As early as 2017, at the very beginning of thingnario’s establishment, CYI Technology adopted the PHOTON system. At that time, thingnario demonstrated strong capabilities in data processing and system implementation, while making it clear that it would always serve the market as an independent third-party software provider, never competing with its customers. This clear positioning and commitment gave CYI strong confidence in PHOTON’s integration power and professional value, laying the foundation for a long-term partnership.

Currently, the team manages nearly 200 photovoltaic sites distributed across Taiwan, and each site is very important to the boss and investors. During the limited sunlight hours, timely inspection and identification of abnormal sites, obtaining abnormal information, and quickly resolving issues are crucial tasks that impact revenue. Every day when Yi-Lang arrives at the office, the first thing he does is open the PHOTON system's maintenance overview page. By using the color-coded icons of the devices, he can easily tell the operating status of inverters at each site. By clicking on abnormal equipment, he can view event information directly. If there are any issues, he can immediately assign work through the system. Maintenance personnel can also check the abnormal locations via their mobile phones when they arrive on site for quick repairs.

AI-powered intelligent detection for real-time anomaly identification

With the adoption of PHOTON, CYI combined years of O&M experience with data intelligence. Through the event management function, the system provides more precise oversight of site conditions. Whether it’s equipment anomalies, I/O status, disconnection events, or AI-powered anomaly comparison, PHOTON can display issues immediately—helping teams make faster decisions and take quicker action. This enables power plant operations to move beyond manual inspections and shift toward a “real-time monitoring and rapid-response” model.

CYI’s 204 MW large-scale shared substation project in Taixi, Yunlin also adopted thingnario’s PHOTON system. This cross-scale, multi-site project further highlights PHOTON’s integration capability in data processing and centralized monitoring, enabling CYI to manage massive power plant operations from a single platform—ensuring both efficiency and stability.
